This magazine is consistant with tips that I use. while reading it, i almost always sit down at my computer and apply the tips that were promulgated that month.

Excellent magazine - I've been a subscriber for years!
Of all other computer magazines I tried, I've kept Smart Computing. This magazine is excellent at all levels (beginner -> expert). I've been in the IT industry for years and I've always found something in this magazine that's helped me or someone else I've helped. There aren't buzzwords that aren't explained and it's easy to understand, but I definitely don't consider it context that would be considered 'talking down to you' - not in the least. Their product reviews and articles are outstanding.

The benefits don't end at the magazine subscription. For being a subscriber you're given online access to the Smart Computing website. This includes online access to Smart Computing's 4 sister magazines - PC Today, CE Lifestyles, their Reference Series and Computer Power User. I've only just recently started using their Q & A board and there are some really knowlegeable people there.

This is definitely a magazine worth subscribing to. You will definitely get many benefits from it :)

An ok magazine
To much time is spent on infomercials and it's over priced. But give it a try you might like it.

Great magazine for mid-level users
I bought this magazine when I was debating whether I should attempt to build my own PC or opt to buy yet another soon-to-be-obselete manufactured PC. This magazine not only helped me gain the confidence I needed to build my own but also gave great and understandable performance reviews for various essential equipment needed to build a strong and upgradeable PC.

best computer magazine ever!
for the subscription I get access online to 4 other computer magazines + extra web content...most readable of all...topics are right on. only if you're a super-power user or wire-head will you not find this a great magazine. multiyear subscriptions were much cheaper when i bought...best overall I've ever seen. :-)

If I may suggest something that
has helped my studies greatly, a little book called
Don't Like to Read, Then Don't, Listen!: How to
Turn Any Type of Text Into Audio Files That Can
Be Read to You!. I know that many students out
there are like me and would rather listen to
material than have to read it themselves. I use
programs like the one that is reading this review
to have my texts read to me. This is a god send
for me. One can get this title on amazon.

Nursing
This book is better than the 6th edition. More precised and less pages to read.Just love it!!!

Life Savers
Wint-o-green flavored lifesavers is always a hit on my night hikes. We have a sparky party with them.!!!

handle detached from mug
Bought two of these in March 2008. They were used once a day and washed by hand. After just four months the handle of one mug detached from the body - they are just glued on. I was willing to pay a premium price for these mugs since my plan was for them to last many years. Would have been better off at the dollar store with mugs that I knew I would have to replace every four months.

Great mug but expensive
it should be .99 mug, but you pay for the nice design, this is what I was expecting before I order it.
it is works great with the coffe warmers, it is actually my main reason to get this .

The best I could find to meet strict criteria.
I wanted a mug that: (1) was insulated, (2) held at least 12 oz., and (3) fit in a Tassimo coffee machine. This met all of the criteria, although there's not any extra room for creamer after the machine makes a 12 oz. cup. Yes, it's expensive for what you get. But it's very stylish and beautifully made. And, considering I could give up the next I will frivolously spend, I'm not going to complain. I will take the other reviewer's test results as evidence of its insulating qualities. But, frankly, if they didn't add some polypropylene between the inner & outer walls, its performance vs. a ceramic mug would be laughable. If you read the reviews and make an informed decision to buy this, you will not be disappointed.

Amendment: After living with this mug for awhile I am reducing my rating to 4 stars. I thought that it's insulating qualities were somewhat suspect and, the other reviewer's exhaustive testing notwithstanding, I am of the opinion that, although "insulated", in reality it has no perceived improvement over a ceramic mug. If it had a lid, it would be better. As it is, if you want your hot liquids to stay that way, this is not the product for you. If you like your coffee hot, be prepared to drink fast.

Definitely worth it (for me)
Sure, it's (at the time of this review) and of course that made me hesitant at first. Realistically, however, for my purposes it really wasn't that bad. I needed a slightly more professional mug for coffee / tea / etc at work and this was perfect for my needs. It's the right size, quality, and style... and it matches the Nissan thermos I also picked up on amazon.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think I'd invest in a whole kitchen's worth of these mugs, but for what I need and the amount of use I get from it, the price isn't a worry. As an added plus, it was eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion.

Hot mug
I got this item so my coffee would not cool down so fast. It works okay for about 1/2 hour but zapping in microwave would be faster but microwave arcs on metal. I enjoy the size and comfort.

Old stars are today's superstars!
I own over 150 wrestling dvd's and vhs tapes. This was about Smoky Mountain Wrestling which had a lot of wrestlers that I had not seen in a long time. Almost every wrestler on this dvd is wrestling on either WWE Raw or Smackdown, ECW, TNA. In my opinion there were very good wrestlers on it but the matches were pretty bad and the filming was even worse. Some of the commentary by Jim Cornette was fairly good he added a lot of facts that were very interesting that I liked best of all on the dvd.
